Dianne Lugo covers the legislature for the Statesman Journal and is a former intern for NPR's Code Switch podcast.
She graduated from Beloit College with a major in Molecular, Cellular, and Integrative Biology and a minor in journalism. While juggling lectures and labs, she worked as the Editor-in-Chief of the college's century-old newspaper, The Round Table.
Dianne is passionate about science and journalism. In 2016 she worked as a news intern at Science Magazine, contributing stories for their online news website.
After graduating she moved back home to Los Angeles where she interned at NPR, assisting in the production of a weekly podcast covering race.
